Chapter 425 Chapter 425 Mack's p.o.v.

After getting out of bed I walked into the bathroom and Commander toldto ask Levi and Kay if they ever thought about sharing a Mate.

I saw a strange look in Levi's eyes when I asked him that question, I think I surprised him when I told him that Commander and I did talk about it and don't getstarted on the look on Kay's face when I asked him. It almost looked as if he finally found the last piece of a puzzle he was working on.

Neither one of them answered my question, but knowing my friends I have given them something to think about and eventually I will get an answer from them.

First things first though, I need to focus on today's meeting and something tellsthat someone has blown a gasket before the day is over. Dax had a bad feeling about this assignment after he talked to the Alpha and whenever Dax has a bad feeling about something he usually is right.

I can tell that my question has thrown Kay of his A-game, but it doesn't matter much for this meeting. I only brought him along to have a High-ranking Lycan with me, something to show srespect towards the Alpha and it seems to please him.

I ask him the questions I always ask and it doesn't takelong to figure out that Dax's gut feeling had been right, something isn't right with this assignment. He has an answer to each of my questions, but they seem a bit to rehearsed to me.

After asking for the file a second tI have had enough of this meeting and this Alpha, Kay needs to put this Idiot back in his place and I need to pull him from his thoughts to get that done.

The story our Scout tells us has Commander pacing in my head, he doesn't like anything about this assignment and what we have found out so far. "Mack, who is our possible target?" Kay asks and I open the file to stare at the face of a young female.

"Fuck, this a young female. I doubt she is much older than eighteen." I growl as I turn the file towards Kay.

"She looks familiar." Commander says and I have to agree with him, she looks really familiar.

"Fuck, this is the Alpha's Daughter. That's why he wants us to bring her in alive, because dead she will be useless to him." I says as I finally realize why she looks so familiar.

"I'll dive into her whereabouts the moment we get back." Our Scout says.

My phone dings to indicate I received a message and I smile when I see it is from Maleah, We need to talk at the house, bring Kay with you. I turn my phone towards Kay so he can see the message and I send a message back to ask about lunch, Taken care off.

It is a rather short answer and for a moment I want to call her, but then I see that we are almost back to our territory.

Kay and I walk back to the house after we handed the file to Dominic, he apparently knew we weren't going to have lunch with them and I was curious about what Maleah might have told him.

I didn't ask anything because Dominic never answers questions someone else should answer and I wonder what might have happened for Maleah to ask a meeting withand my best friends, it can't be too serious because she isn't involving our Alphas.

Kay is deep in thought as we walk from the Pack-house to our house 88 x avec 1.n and Commander tellsto him alone, not something that happens a lot. Usually he is as curious as I am and he will buguntil I start asking questions, but it seems as if Commander is aware of something I am not.

Anyone can tell that something is up the moment I step into the living room and looking at my best friend I can tell that he is nervous about something.

Maleah smiles atas she steps into my arms and Commander is purring in my head as he curls up, "Why are we having lunch here?" I ask her after I have kissed her and she grabs the binder from the table that Kay found last night.

"Levi already read it and I want the two of you to read it as well." She says before she walks to the kitchen and I sit down on the other couch to read whatever is inside that binder, because I think it is the reason why Levi is so damn nervous.

Maleah places our lunch on the coffee table as I read an essay she made as a twelve year old, I smiled sa internally when I read the title and 1 was really curious about the answer. I hear Kay talking to Maleah in the background, but most of my attention is on the essay pam reading and I am surprised about the amount of research she put into this.

Her essay start with explaining why multiples usually share a Mate, their Mate is to balance each of them out and her character is able to bring out the best in each of them.

Commander doesn't like the next part of her essay, because it shows what happened in the first five decades or so after we lost the ability to find our Mate during a Full Moon and I know that he wouldn't have liked living in that tof our history.

We are both stunned about the consequences of those fifty to sixty years, but Commander perks up when we read that it was resolved by given females more than one Mate and those weren't always related to one another.

She even took her research a step further by looking into that phenomenon to when she was m writing her essay, she found out that it still happens that females get more than one Mate and she found out that it always concerns females with one or more abilities. Her end conclusion was that those females needed more than one Mate to keep them from harm, because everyone knows not to mess with a female that has a Mate and that males will do anything for their Mate.

"How did Fortune react to your end conclusion?" I ask her as I hold out the file to Kay, but he shakes his head. "I have my Aunt's copy, I know what Maleah uncovered all those years ago." He says.

Maleah sits down in an armchair and I am not sure if I like this, "I wanted you all to read it, because Fortune feels a connection to each of you." She says and I just stare at her because I wasn't expecting this.

On the other hand, it eases Commander that she will always have a Mate with her.
