Karter hadn't expected Judson to be so freaked out by Calliope and Silas. Now he was starting to panic, too.
He shot Judson a desperate look and blurted out, "Judson, | only arrested Calliope because someone reported her
for murder and fraud! That's it!"

“Idiot. Do you have any idea who Callie is? Her rank is way above yours. If she'd actually done anything wrong, it

Silas didn't say a word, but the warning in his glance made Judson shiver.

With that, he gave Karter a swift kick, making Karter yelp in pain.
Afterward, Calliope stepped outside and got into Silas's car.
"You really didn't have to come. | already told Judson about it," Calliope said, glancing over.
She knew Silas could handle this,
but she hadn't called him. She could deal with it herself. Besides, she
