Chapter 430
"It's fine," said Belinda, raising her hand to let Dominic wipe it. She wasn't the least bit upset. If anything, she
seemed to be enjoying it. A faint blush even appeared on her stiff face.
Vespera watched silently while Vance looked like he was about to explode. The other guests sat quietly,
exchanging glances with one another. No one spoke, but everyone was thinking something.
Eventually, the gala drew to a close. Belinda rose and led everyone to the second floor of the castle.
She announced, "Everyone will be staying here for the night. | have already made the room arrangements. Two
to a room. If you calone, you could have a room for yourself, but | would recommend finding a roommate.
The wind gets pretty strong at night. Being alone might give you a fright.
"Alright then. Return to your rooms and get srest."
The moment Belinda said that, many guests began to feel uneasy. They had to spend the night in the castle?
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtWeren't they supposed to be staying in the hillside villas?
And what was all that about the wind? Why would they be frightened if they stayed alone? Why did she tell them
to return to their rooms and rest?
A hundred questions swirled silently among the guests, but no one dared to ask aloud. A few people instinctively
turned to Dominic, clearly hoping he would step in and ask on their behalf.
Nevertheless, Dominic didn't want to ask any questions.
Just then, the steward stepped forward and directed the maids to show each guest to their room.
"Vera, we..." Evelyn hurried toward Vespera, reaching out to take her arm. It was obvious she was hoping to
room together.
But before Evelyn could finish her sentence, Vespera had already latched onto Dominic's arm. She said, "I'm
scared of ghosts, and he's strong."
Evelyn was rendered speechless.
Seeing that Evelyn was rejected, Vance snorted with laughter, clearly enjoying the scene.
Dominic glanced down at Vespera as if something had just clicked in his mind. Then, he turned to Evelyn with a
serious expression and shook his head. He said, "You can't stay with her."
Evelyn replied, "You're so petty."
Dominic ignored Evelyn and gently tugged Vespera along by the hand. Meanwhile, Calvert and Gerard were led
into the room next door. Evelyn and Vance were assigned a room across the corridor.
The rest of the guests also filed into their assigned rooms.
Standing in the middle of the corridor, Belinda watched them with a twisted smile. Her gaze seemed to say,
"Now, let the gbegin."
Belinda turned on her heel and disappeared down the corridor, her maids trailing behind. In her absence, a
heavy silence fell over the corridor.
In the room, Vespera stood near the door, trying to hear any sounds from outside.
"Do you hear anything?" Dominic asked, leaning in beside her and pressing his ear to the door as well. He
lowered his voice and whispered, "Vera, do you think this castle might really be haunted?"
Vespera answered, "Of course, not..."
Vespera reached out to push Dominic, but he suddenly pulled her into his arms, locking her against his chest. He
said, "If you're scared, you should take deep breaths."
Vespera didn't know what to say. Her face was practically smashed into Dominic's chest. She jabbed at him with
her fingers and said, "Can you not mess around right now? Don't you think something is off?
"There's supposed to be skind of event tonight, right? So, why didn't they start right after dinner? Why send
us to our rooms first? Doesn't that seem suspicious to you? Do you get what I'm saying?"
Dominic cupped her face and said, "I get it."
Vespera asked nervously, "What are we facing?"
