Chapter 206
Tommy shadowed them carefully the entire time, making sure not to draw any attention.
The longer he tailed them, the weirder things felt. ‘Seriously? How'd a shopping trip end up at the airport?”
Tommy thought to himself.
He whipped out his phone to call his brother Barry, his gaze locked tight on Rebecca. “Ms. Jensen brought
Samuel and Amelia to the airport. Should I let Mr. Hanson know about this?”
Barry was stumped. “Wait, what?”
Barry: “Where?!”
Tommy: “The airport.”
Barry was totally panicking. “Duh, obviously you tell him!”
“But Mr. Hanson said if Ms. Jensen and her crew weren't in any danger today, we don’t need to tell him
anything,” Tommy said, looking genuinely puzzled. “You think maybe he knew Rebecca was gonna take off and
just let it slide?”
Barry froze, taken aback for a moment.
“Yeah, the boss did say to pull back every single watcher, Barry thought, uneasy.
‘Still, Rebecca leaving? That's no small matter,’ he worried.
“Just keep them in sight. I'm heading straight to Mr. Hanson to report now,” Barry said quickly.
“Got it,” Tommy replied, hanging up.
By now, Rebecca had already blended into the stream of travelers at the airport. Just as she was heading to the
ticket counter, her phone buzzed twice-Richard Jensen had texted her: [Sorry.]
Rebecca glanced at the message and stashed her phone away; her expression was perfectly calm, not a ripple of
emotion inside.
She and Amelia held Samuel's hands as they boarded the plane together.
The plane took off.
‘Finally, | can breathe a little easier,” Rebecca thought, her nerves loosening as the plane rose into the sky.
While Jeffrey was caught up in a meeting at the office, Barry paced outside the conference room until he
managed to catch Gregory's attention, nodding toward his phone for him to check it.
Gregory pulled out his phone.
Gregory's eyes flickered for a moment as he read the message.

After thinking it over for a few seconds, he bent down and kept his voice low as he reported to Jeffrey, “Mr.
Hanson, Tommy just called. Ms. Jensen and her group went to the airport-the plane to Honnala departed about
five minutes ago.”
There was an icy edge in Jeffrey’s dark eyes, his gaze freezing over for a second.
But the chill vanished in an instant-almost like nothing had happened.
“Let's get back to the meeting,” Jeffrey said calmly.

Barry was still anxiously waiting outside for instructions, pacing back and forth restlessly for half an hour.
As soon as the meeting ended, Barry practically dashed up to Jeffrey, hurrying after him as they headed to the
Executive Office and hurriedly reporting, “Mr. Hanson, Ms. Jensen left with Samuel. Do you want us to go after
them?”
“Who told you that?” Jeffrey asked as he strode into his office.
“Tommy,” Barry answered, still clueless about what his boss was thinking. “He saw them at the airport himself.”
Jeffrey gave him a skeptical look. “You're really buying his story?”
Barry insisted, “I'm serious-it’s true!”
Barry pressed, “If you don’t believe me, call Ms. Jensen. There's no way she'll pick up right now!”
“She’s having dinner withtonight. She wouldn't just bail,” Jeffrey replied as he sat down, all cool confidence.
“Don’t get worked up over nothing.”
‘But... Barry wanted to say more.
Gregory just yanked him out of the office.
Barry glanced at Jeffrey, who was already immersed in work like he hadn't even noticed what happened. He
turned to Gregory and said, “Ms. Jensen's really gone. Maybe you should talk to Mr. Hanson.”
“Con, Barry. If you know, you think Mr. Hanson doesn’t?” Gregory replied, his tone steady-he saw exactly
what was going on.
Barry had a classic ‘huh?’ look on his face, clearly baffled.
Gregory knew tonight wasn’t going to be peaceful. “Let Mr. Garcia in on this.”
Barry blinked, confused. “Which news?”
Gregory just gave him a look-you could tell exactly what he meant without a word.
Barry took off in a flash.

Gregory glanced over at Jeffrey, who was sitting in his chair, looking completely calm-like nothing could
rule him.
He knew this was just the calm before the storm. If Rebecca didn’t show up for dinner tonight, Jeffrey would be
on his way to Honnala by ten o'clock at the latest.
As for what would happen next, no one could even guess.
After thinking it over, Gregory pulled out his phone and sent Rebecca a message: [Ms. Jensen, don’t forget about
dinner tonight. Mr. Hanson's been waiting for you.]
Rebecca didn’t see Gregory's message until three hours had passed.
Only after they'd found their place and unpacked everything did she finally glance at her phone.
Samuel noticed something was off with her and asked, “Mommy, what's wrong?”
“It's nothing,” Rebecca replied, locking her phone and gently taking his hand. “Are you getting used to being
here?”
Samuel nodded. “Yeah, I'm doing okay.”
Rebecca smiled warmly. “If you're having any trouble adjusting here, or if something doesn’t feel right, let me
know, alright? I'll figure something out for you.”
“Alright,” Samuel replied, then suddenly remembered something. “Oh, Mommy!”
“Hmm?” Rebecca looked over at him.
Samuel glanced at his wristwatch and said, “Can you buya new one? This watch is hooked up to Dad's
phone-whenever | turn it on, he'll know where I am.”
Rebecca paused, a little taken aback.
Rebecca was well aware of how much Samuel was attached to Jeffrey. Even though the boy spent half his time
trading sarcastic quips and calling him “Mr. Hanson,” deep down, she knew Samuel genuinely cared about him-
even if he'd never admit it.
“Don’t worry about getting a new one,” Rebecca said as she gently held his little hand. “Just keep wearing this,
okay?”
All Rebecca ever really wanted was to get away from Jeffrey-to live in a completely different city, far from him,
where she wouldn't have to watch him flaunt his thing with Andrea, and where he couldn't keep making her
miserable.
She just wanted to live freely, taking care of her own life and doing her own thing, without anyone interfering.
Jelasburg and Honnala were a thousand miles apart-there was no way he could just show up and disrupt her life
every day with that kind of distance.

Besides, whether or not Samuel wore that watch, whether she stayed in Jelasburg or moved overseas, jeffrey
always had ways to find her anyway.
So, instead of worrying about it, she figured it was better to choose a city where she could really settle down and
start over on her own terms.
“What if Dad comes looking for us?” Samuel asked quietly, torn between his parents but always siding just a
little more with the mom who'd always loved him most-Rebecca.
“Well, then let him,” Rebecca said, perfectly calm. “It’s not like he can just kidnapor anything?
Samuel thought about it for a moment.
‘Honestly, Dad totally would do something like that,” Samuel thought to himself.
“But what if Dad actually does kidnap you?” Samuel asked, his voice tinged with worry.
“Let's just wait and see if he actually tries,” Rebecca replied, letting it roll right off her shoulders.
If Jeffrey ever stooped so low as to hunt her down and force her back, she'd snap-even go off the rails if she had
to. She'd make sure he knew exactly what it felt like to have someone drive you to the very edge.
As Rebecca and Samuel were chatting, Amelia wrapped up her call and strolled over, dressed in her usual soft
and elegant way. She smiled and called out, “Rebecca.”
Rebecca looked up.
“I set up a meeting with Ms. White, Attorney, for tomorrow morning,” Amelia said, skipping over the word
‘divorce. “If it goes well, you can sit down and talk more details with her yourself.”
“Okay,” Rebecca agreed.
The rest of the afternoon, Rebecca spent showing Samuel around their new place.
It was a cozy little villa with six bedrooms and four living areas, with a big, lush tree right beside it and a grassy
garden wrapping around the house-over a hundred square meters of green.
It was tiny compared to Rebecca’s Manor, but what it lacked in size, it more than made up for with its warm,
homey vibe.
It was almost five in the afternoon.
Her phone buzzed again-Gregory had sent another message: [Ms. Jensen, where are you?]
Gregory: [If you don’t show up soon, Mr. Hanson's gonna freeze everyone in the room.]
Gregory: [Ms. Jensen?]
Rebecca couldn't help but internally scoff at how everyone kept up the act-clearly they all knew she’d already
skipped town, yet still played clueless like it was skind of game.

When they were leaving, Amelia mentioned there was someone shadowing them. Rebecca figured it was just
Tommy-Jeffrey must've sent him to ‘protect’ her. But with only one guy trailing after them, she honestly couldn't
be bothered to care.
By then, it was already crunch time.
Even if Tommy had managed to tip them off, they'd already taken off.
Gregory kept firing off messages, but still nothing. He instinctively glanced at Stanley, who was standing with
him just outside the private room. “She’s not answering,” he muttered.
“I'll call her,” Stanley said. He shot a quick look at the tense atmosphere inside, then whipped out his phone and
dialed Rebecca.
Rebecca answered on the first ring. “Mr. Garcia.”
Stanley cut straight to the point. “Did you leave Jelasburg?”
Rebecca confirmed, “I did.”
up with Jeffrey's “I'm switching to speaker and taking this to Jeffrey,” Stanley said with exasperation, fed
stubbornness. “Go ahead and tell him yourself you're not in Jelasburg, so he stops making everyone wait around
for you at dinner.”
