Chapter 631 Marguerite pursed her lips, her eyes dulling at the mere thought of Maurice.
"He's playing a gwith me. I bet he wantsto willingly walk down the aisle with him." Miley was fuming, her words tangled in her anger: "Is that guy out of his mind? It's practically a shotgun wedding, and he expects you to be all hearts and flowers about it? Wants your body and your soul? Greedy as a pig, that's impossible!" Robert was gently steering the wheel, pondering over Marguerite's words, and soon offered a different perspective.

Forcing his way is a true display of power. There must be scompelling reason he hasn't married you yet." Miley, ever curious, pressed on, "A compelling reason? Like what?" Robert shrugged, "Who knows?" At that moment, Marguerite finally lifted her weary gaze to Miley, forcing a tight smile.
"Enough about him, he just gets under my skin. Whatever his reasons are, I couldn't care less. He can keep dragging his feet for all I care. Whoever wants to marry him can go right ahead, but countout!" Miley clamped her mouth shut, disappointment etched on her face but logged the conversation in her mind. Soon, Robert dropped them off at Poppy Petal Fragrances, and they made their way through the lobby toward the elevators.
Miley, recalling last night's efforts to play wingwoman with Robert, couldn't contain her renewed interest and bubbled up to Marguerite.
"Marguerite, about last night with Mr. Winston..." Marguerite threw her a look, teasingly asking, "What about him and me?" Miley wiggled her eyebrows suggestively, "Didn't something... happen?" Marguerite poked Miley's forehead in exasperation, "Get your mind out of the gutter, we didn't do anything last night!" Miley's face fell in disappointment: "What? Nothing happened? Marguerite, you're killing me! Don't you know how hard Robert and I tried to set you two up? I was thinking you guys never actually slept..." She stopped short, realizing the impropriety of discussing such matters in a public space, and awkwardly skirted around the issue, "I mean, skinship solves everything, right? Haven't you and Mr. Winston... you know? It's drivingcrazy!" Marguerite, recalling last night and the breakfast left by the man this morning, felt a mix of confusion and frustration.
"What good does your impatience do? I've already made my move, but if he's not into it, what can I do? It's not like I can force him. Nothing happened, that's that!" Miley's eyes widened in shock.
"No way? Mr. Winston turned you down? Don't they say men think with their... you know? How che's any different?"

Miley shivered at the thought, "You don't think Mr. Winston has some... Issues?" Marguerite start eXstartled by Miley's suggestion, gave her a playful pinch: "Stop talking nonsense!" Miley chuckled, "Oh, look at you getting all defensive!" Marguerite couldn't help but laugh, her irritation melting away as they both giggled their way into the elevator.
Little did they know that even with their voices hushed, their conversation had not escaped the ears of Linda from the design department, who happened to pass by.
