Chapter 810

As soon as Manley finished speaking, Hayes crushing in from outside, looking a bit flustered.

He had been helping Jocelyn pick vegetables in the garden when he heard Manley's voice, so he ran in without

even washing his hands.

"Letsee!"

Manley quickly jumped off the chair, making room for Hayes.

Hayes sat down eagerly and opened the chat app, discovering that their mysterious online friend had sent a

hand-drawn sketch along with a message:

"Here's the design you wanted. | can't remember all the details, but it should look something like this."

The two kids stared at the sketch on the screen for quite a while.

Hayes furrowed his young brows in concentration, while Manley looked on with curiosity, glancing back and forth

between the sketch and Hayes, clearly unsure what to make of it.

"Is this a doodle? Our friend Teresa is supposed to do sketches, right?"

Hayes rubbed his chin thoughtfully, examining the amateur drawing.

"All the important details are there. Look at this... there's a tiny microcircuit drawn right here."

He pointed to a specific detail in the drawing, while Manley peered at it closely, shaking his head in confusion.

"What does that prove? It just shows she has a good memory."

Hayes turned to Manley, asking seriously:

"If I gave you a chocolate chip cookie and then asked you to draw it from memory... how would you go about it?"

Manley paused, his young face scrunched in thought.

"How would | draw it? I'd just sketch the basic shape. As long as it looks like a cookie, right?"

"Exactly! Someone who doesn't draw much would do just that... but a pro artist would glance at the details and

remember everything..."

Manley nodded, thinking it over. "So you think this mysterious person is a pro artist?"

Hayes nodded, "Yep!"

"But there are lots of people who can draw. Not every one of them is Teresa." Ignoring Manley's point, Hayes

typed a message back to their mysterious friend: "I'll help you investigate the microcircuit on one condition: you

Predictably, the mysterious friend went offline immediately.

Frustrated, Hayes tossed the mouse aside, clearly a bit upset with himself.

Manley glanced at the screen, puzzled, and turned to Hayes:

"Didn't you trace her IP address last time? If she comes to Cresthaven, your smartwatch should show it, right?"

Hayes sighed tically, mimicking the manner of an adult, and explained:

"Ever since | tracked her IP to my dad's grave and found it, her IP vanished... | can't trace it anymore."

Hayes's melancholy was contagious, and soon Manley was sighing right alongside him.

But Manley wasn't as clever as Hayes. No matter how concerned he was, he couldn't really help.

After thinking for a moment, he decided that playing with his Transformers was more fun, so he shifted his

attention back to that.

Before long, both of their smartwatches buzzed simultaneously.

Manley dropped his toys and checked the screen, sitting up straight as soon as he saw the message.

"Do you think Ms. Marguerite is dating someone?"

Hayes folded his arms, turning to Manley with a puzzled look. "Dating?"

Manley nodded vigorously. "Yeah, dating! Check out our group chat on Facebook!"

Hayes, still confused, opened Facebook and found Marguerite's message right at the top:

"Sweethearts, if | found someone to be your new daddy, would you be okay with that?"
