Chapter 821
What kind of feeling was this?
It was like a mouse spotting a cat, a bullied kid seeing their tormentor, or
someone on death's door meeting the Grim Reaper.
No, none of those could compare to the sheer dread Margot felt at that moment.
Maurice was the most terrifying devil on earth, bar none!
Margot was shaking like a leaf, while Maurice simply glanced at her before turning his eyes to Janie, who stood
nearby.
"I told you to bring her here, why is she hurt?"
Janie lowered her gaze, looking troubled. "Sorry, Mr. Winston. | was driving, she was struggling in the back, and |
might've accidentally hurt her."
"Go get the first aid kit."
"Yes, Mr. Winston."
Janie left the room and quickly returned with santiseptic.
Maurice walked over to Margot, towering above her as he reached out with a cotton swab.
But his hand hung in the air as Margot turned her head away.

His voice was calm and deep, yet it made Margot's heart race uneasily.
In her mind, she saw a scene: Maurice standing on a rooftop, holding a gun, arms wide as he said, "Teresa, come
to Daddy."
But it wasn't long before the bullets from his gun mercilessly found their mark on her.
Summoning all her courage, Margot met his steady gaze, "I don't know you, sir." Maurice raised an eyebrow,
"Oh? Then why are you so afraid of me?"
His gaze was warm and bright, devoid of any hostility.
Yet Margot felt as if with just a glance, he could peer into her soul and uncover her deepest secrets.
She forced herself to stay calm, swallowing hard as she glanced at Janie with a pitiful expression, "You seem
scarier than she does."
"So, | frightened you?"
Maurice knelt down to look Margot in the eye, his face smiling yet full of hidden meanings.
Margot nodded earnestly, adding, "You tiedup. Sir, I'm like the golden goose, and my dad's got loads of
money. Letgo, and I'll make sure he pays you, okay? How much do you want?"
Maurice looked at her, and a crack appeared in his gentle gaze.
Janie couldn't help but report, "Mr. Winston, she's been babbling about being the golden goose the whole ride,
doesn't seem too bright. And she doesn't look anything like Teresa, maybe we got the wrong person?"
Margot gritted her teeth, her hands tied behind her clenching tightly into fists.
She was on the verge of breaking down but still put on an innocent, harmless face, asking, "Who's Teresa?"
Maurice stared at her in silence. Her eyes still held fear, but more than that, confusion and bewilderment.
Was her fear of him only because he had tied her up?
After a long pause, Maurice looked away, stood, and glanced at Janie with a momentary flicker of resignation.
"Untie her. Take her back."
Janie nodded, dutifully untying Margot and leading her towards the door.
Margot looked back at Maurice with innocent eyes, even waving at him, "Thank you, sir. Goodbye."
Just as those words left her mouth, a sharp gunshot rang out from outside.
Bang-
The piercing noise sent a shiver through Margot, nearly causing her to collapse.
Janie quickly caught her, looking down to see Margot's face had turned unnaturally pale.
She reassured her, "There's a shooting range nearby, don't worry."
Margot couldn't hear a word, letting Janie guide her towards the exit.
Little did she know, her terrified demeanor had caught Maurice's attention.
His gaze turned sharp and intense, and he strode forward, slamming the door shut with a loud bang.
Janie was puzzled, "Mr. Winston?"
"Teresa had a birthmark on her foot."
Maurice looked at Margot quietly, his tone flat, devoid of anger, but cold as ice.
