Chapter 835
Just as Hayes reached out his little hand, Margot dashed back into the room. "Hayes, your mom's here!" she
exclaimed.
Hayes quickly pulled his hand away, trying to keep a calm face, though his heart was pounding like crazy.
That was close!
Almost got caught.
Margot grabbed Hayes' hand and said, "Con, let's go find her. But that means you won't get to taste my
dad's cooking!"
He trailed behind Margot as they made their way out, but just before leaving the room, his eyes lingered on the
brown paper envelope.
Cresthaven General Hospital Medical Report, Silas.
He repeated those words silently in his mind.
Meanwhile...

Silas knew Marguerite was coming over to the villa, so he'd already informed the security not to stop her.
And so Marguerite entered without any fuss, but she chose to stay by the swing in the front yard, not venturing
inside.
She knew that seeing her would only give Silas a splitting headache.
She didn't want to cause him any more pain.
Hearing soft footsteps, Marguerite assumed it was Hayes and turned around.
Instead, she found Silas leaning against the doorframe, wearing all-white loungewear, arms crossed, and smiling
warmly at her.
The soft texture of his clothes added a touch of lazy tenderness to his otherwise fierce demeanor.
Marguerite panicked a bit and instinctively turned away, retreating into the shadows as she heard Silas chuckle
softly.
"Hiding? I've already seen you."
Still standing in the shadows, Marguerite replied with a hint of fluster, "I'll leave once Hayes comes out. You
should go back inside."
The moment those words left her lips, silence enveloped them both.
Marguerite assumed he'd gone back inside, as everything was quiet.
Thinking it was safe, she turned around, only to find Silas standing right there, much closer than expected.
They almost collided.
"Am | that scary?"
"Do you always walk so quietly?"
They spoke in unison, a shared understanding hanging in the air.
Under the dim lights, Marguerite noticed Silas's smile growing wider, while she felt increasingly uneasy.
Her breathing was uneven, and to mask her embarrassment, she responded first. "Didn't want to give you a
headache."
His deep eyes looked at her with understanding, recalling the conversation they'd had a few days prior about his
headaches; perhaps she had taken it to heart.
"Don't worry, | took spainkillers earlier. Con out."
Marguerite looked up at him, a hint of frustration in her eyes. "You're blocking my way out."
Silas chuckled, realizing he was indeed standing too close. He stepped back, and Marguerite moved into the
light.
She didn't mention the conversation she'd had with Teresa, only offering a bit of advice, "You know, too many
meds aren't good for you."
Silas watched her quietly, his gaze both deep and gentle, as if he could see right through her.
Marguerite hated how transparent she felt under his gaze, a feeling that made her anxious, and then he spoke.
"Actually, there's another way to ease the headaches."
"What is it?"
"Polar Radiance."
Marguerite looked puzzled, but Silas just smiled mysteriously, leaving her in the dark about his true intentions.
"Perfume's not medicine, it can't cure headaches. Don't try to trick me."
Silas kept his hands in his pockets, "Believe it or not, as the main investor in this project, you should at least give
"What do you mean?"
His eyes locked onto hers, his tone a mix of teasing and sincerity.
"Letdrive you back to your apartment."
