Chapter 435
On the left, the Jitanese woman was standing there with a smile. She even waved at Vespera. It was the same
woman who knocked on the door and plummeted from upstairs. So, was she still human?
A cold sweat broke out across Vespera's back. She clutched Dominic's arm and stammered, "Hey, look over
there..."
In the next moment, Dominic turned her face to look at him. He stared at her lips and asked, "What happened to
your tongue?"
Vespera tried to hint at Dominic to look in that direction. He glanced over and offered a polite nod in that
direction. Then, he turned back casually and said, "I saw her. What's wrong?"
Was that it? Why was Dominic so calm? This wasn't normal.
Vespera didn't know if she was overreacting or if Dominic was completely numb to fear. She mumbled, drawing
an arc through the air with her hand, "Wasn't that woman already..."
Dominic frowned. Then, he responded calmly, "You must have been mistaken."

That was impossible. Vespera peeked around Dominic like he was a shield and glanced toward the woman again
cautiously.
However, the woman wasn't the Jitanese woman. It was just someone wearing a similar cyan gown. Did Vespera
really imagine it? No way! She had even seen that smile. Every detail was etched into her mind.
Dominic caught the dazed look on her face and cupped her eyes with one hand, turning her head. He said,
"Alright. Stop looking. | told you before that there's something strange about the magnetic field in this place.
Weird things might happen."
Weird? That was a ghost!
Vespera was on the verge of tears. If she had to see ghosts, she didn't want to see them alone. She said,
"Dominic, you saw her too, right? Just admit it."
Vespera pulled Dominic's hand and looked up at him with anticipation.
Dominic was at a loss for words. He lowered his head and looked at her. Solemnly, he nodded and replied, "lI saw
her. It's terrifying. My knees have even gone weak."
Vespera said, "I knew it! There's no way | was the only one!"
Just then, Calvert and Gerard, who had been eavesdropping nearby, finally spoke up. Gerard asked with a grim
expression, "Vespera, what are you talking about? Ghosts?"
Calvert, who had looked half-dead moments ago, suddenly perked up. He asked, "Ghosts? Where? Was it a
vampire? What kind of ghost was it?"
Calvert sounded way too enthusiastic, rendering Vespera speechless. Where was she even supposed to start?
She asked, "Didn't you two hear that thud earlier?"
Both Calvert and Gerard shook their heads, looking vaguely uncomfortable. Calvert answered first, "I was in the
bathroom the whole time. | didn't hear a thing."
Gerard looked uneasy as he replied, "I... | didn't notice anything either."
Vespera looked at both of them, finally settling on Calvert. She said, "You... You didn't force yourself on Gerard or
anything, right?"
When Vespera mentioned Gerard, her gaze turned to Gerard for a short moment. Upon hearing that, Calvert was
confused, while Gerard was enraged.
Gerard's face turned crimson as he shouted, "What are you even saying? Force? We're straight men! We handle
things on our own!"
As he said that, he made a lewd gesture.
Dominic frowned and hit Gerard on the head. He said, "If you're going to shout, why not just grab a megaphone
and announce it to the whole castle? You might as well go for the full effect."
Gerard fumed silently. He wanted to retort, but after making eye contact with Dominic for just two seconds, he
wilted.
Dominic had a beautiful woman sticking by his side. And Gerard? God knew what happened back there. One
second, he was lying in bed, watching Calvert playing with a knife on the couch. And the next thing he knew, he
was aroused out of nowhere.
But the real horror was when Calvert turned around and gave Gerard a predatory stare. It felt like something out
of a horror movie.
At such a time, who would care about snoise coming from outside the room? Vespera finally pieced together
what had gone down in that room.
Vespera pitied them for about two seconds. Then, she looked at Gerard and said, "My bad. | misunderstood. | see
now that Calvert still has a shred of humanity
left."
