Chapter 1346
During dinner, Jackson's phone buzzed with an urgent call from one of Adam's guys. Apparently, Adam had been
ambushed while picking up a delivery and was now critically injured and out cold. They'd called in a bunch of
doctors, but none of them had any solutions. Doctor after doctor showed up, only to deliver the sgrim news:
there was nothing they could do.
"Hasn't Mr. Woods cback yet?" a man asked, pacing anxiously. How could so much thave gone by with
no updates?
When they arrived at the scene, it was mostly cleaned up, but the massive pool of blood still on the ground
painted a clear picture of just how bad things were. Adam's guy looked frantic, hands covered in blood.
As soon as they stepped inside, the overpowering smell of blood hit them hard, making Fiona scrunch her nose in
discomfort. The situation was way worse than she had imagined.

Jackson had wanted Fiona to stay in another room to avoid the gruesscene, but she insisted on tagging
along. With no tto argue, he reluctantly agreed.
His eyes scanned the bloodstain on the floor, a deep frown settling on his face. "What's going on?"
Seeing Jackson arrive, Adam's man let out a breath of relief, though he couldn't help but look curiously at the
unfamiliar girl with Jackson. What was Mr. Woods up to? And who was this young girl with him?
Despite his curiosity, the urgency of the moment took precedence. He bowed respectfully to Jackson, speaking in
a hurried and worried tone, "Mr. Woods, Mr. Adam's condition is really bad. We called several doctors, and they
all said there's nothing they can do."
"Nothing they can do?" Jackson's voice was icy. "If they can't help, what's the point ofpaying them every
year? Tell them to cup with a solution, or they'll regret it if anything happens to Adam."
Fiona pieced it together-Jackson's friend was in trouble. Adam... he was the guy from the bar last time.
Adam's man was almost frantic, his voice shaky, But our boss's conditionis.extremely serious. Even Dr. Smith
said he couldn't help. The bullet's dangerously close to his heart, and they're scared to remove it. But if we could
find Dr. Séraphine, we might have a shot!"
"Dr. Séraphine?" Jackson's eyes narrowed.
Fiona's curiosity piqued. Dr. Séraphine?
"Yeah, the doctors have only managed to stop the bleeding temporarily, but for proper
treatment, we need Dr. Séraphine to cout of hiding. She hasn't been seen in years, and no one knows where
she is."
Dr. Séraphine hadn't taken on any cases for over a decade, only occasionally surfacing, her whereabouts a
mystery. Even though Jackson was new to
Cedarvale, he had heard whispers of Dr Seraphine. He was about to
organize a search when Fiona spoke up.
"How about lettingtry?"
She crossed her arms, meeting Jackson's gaze with a soft smile. "Brother, can | give it a shot? My medical skills
aren't too shabby."
Though not quite up to her mom's level yet.
Adam's man heard her suggestion and thought she was joking, his tone turning cold. "Miss, this isn't a tfor
jokes. This is life or death, not a child's game."
If she hadn't been with Mr. Woods, he would've already shown her the door for making such a suggestion at such
a critical time.
