Chapter 106
Way before she even thought about getting hitched, Grace had heard the buzz about Devin.
The grapevine was buzzing that he was a mild and unassuming guy.
Knowing he was easygoing, she figured it was worth a shot to give him a call.
But when he said yes to her crazy idea and got that marriage license in no time. Grace had to give him some
serious props.
After what happened today, she was even more thankful she knew him.
Hearing him say something so sweet, Grace felt like she'd hit the jackpot.
She looked at Devin, her heart pounding, with a ton of things on her mind but no clue where to start.
Seeing her all dazed, Devin thought she was cute and playfully nudged her nose.
“Don’t you want a date? How about we start as friends?".

Grace got that he was trying to ease the tension, but she couldn't help but blush.
Too shy to meet his gaze, she dropped her eyes and fidgeted with her glass.
Devin felt a flutter in his heart at the sight of her shyness.
We've got the marriage license now. Givea shot, huh? Maybe we're
meant to be.”
His words made Grace feel shy and her checks flush.
After a moment of debate with herself, she pave a tiny nod.
It was such a small move that Devin wasn’t sure and asked again.
Grace's heart was racing and her voice was barely there. “Let's give it a shot and start as... lovers.”
The smell of disinfectant hit Antoas soon as he opened his eyes to see Quinten Kaufman's stern mug.
“You did this to yourself over a woman? Antonio, what were you thinking?”
Hearing the stern rebuke, Antoshut his eyes once more, his brows knitted tight.
“It wasn’t about her.”
“Not about her? Con! Livia left yesterday, and you're here in the hospital with a hangover. If you really
cared, you should go after her! What's the point of this self-pity?”
Quinten’s nagging was getting on his nerves, and Antowas about to lose it.
“She’s got a boyfriend now!”
“She’s got a boyfriend, and you're still mooning over her? The girls from the Coffey and Mullen families are way
better than her. Why are you so fixated on her and nobody else!?!”
Antoknew his dad was just trying to push him into a marriage, which only made him more annoyed.
“None of them compare! No one else is as good as Grace!”
The words left both of them in shock.
Antowas all mixed up, wondering why he'd even put Grace in the
ssentence.

Quinten just gaped at him, totally shocked.
“Grace? She's the servant's daughter. She's not in your league. You're aiming way too low.”
Antowas ticked off hearing Quinten talk like that, and he shot back.
“She might not be in my league, but I'd rather see her than those from the Coffey and Mullen families.”
Antoactually put up a fight for an assistant. Quinten, with a stern face, started to probe, “You care about her
that much, huh? You must have a thing for her.”
Antonio’s heart skipped a beat, and he froze on the spot.
He turned away, trying to hide how he felt.
“H-How could | have a thing for her?”
His voice wavered with a hint of uncertainty.
Quinten, an old hand at this, could tell something was up.
“If you really like Grace, just keep her around. Her mom was a good woman. Also, your grandma likes Grace. If it
doesn’t work out, don’t handle it badly. Marriage is a big deal, and you should listen to your mom. You're not
getting any younger. Stop messing around!”
