Chapter 802 Breanne leaned in closer, her perfwafting heavily in the air. Everett's brow furrowed as the fog in his eyes started to lift. At last, he really looked at the woman standing before him. Her features did look a lot like Selena's, maybe even more than that woman Abraham was with last time. Her voice was almost identical too, but the tone was different.

When Selena called him Mr. Everett, it was always laced with sarcasm or as frosty as a winter morning-never warm. The thought of her showing up to pick him up seemed ridiculous. As if Selena cared about him. If he hadn't insisted or if the situation hadn't forced her, she would've never stayed by his side. That cold-hearted woman! Breanne, blissfully unaware of Everett's thoughts about Selena, saw only a strikingly handsman staring at her with his deep, soulful eyes, which sent a thrilling shiver through her. She admired his sharp nose, the hint of muscles beneath his shirt, those long, elegant fingers, and what lay beneath those tailored pants... Her mind wandered, imagining how thrilling it would be to have his strong body over hers.

Though young, Breanne was no novice, especially when it cto seduction. She had climbed her way up, and once Mr. Everett was in her bed, she was sure she could keep him there. Men were easy to handle when they were satisfied in bed.

But much to her surprise, Everett gently pushed her away, his tipsy gaze now razor-sharp. Breanne felt a sting of rejection, but his intense look kept her from trying again. With a shaky voice, she said, "Mr. Everett, I didn't mean anything else. I was just worried you'd feel sick from the drinks." Everett gave her a cold glance with those dark eyes, said nothing, and picked up his phone to call Alex, telling her to get the car ready because he was leaving. He hung up and left without a second glance.

Breanne sat on the couch, watching his unyielding retreat, clenching her fists in frustration. No man had ever dismissed her so thoroughly. Her competitive streak was ignited her heart racing even more. Conquering a man like Everett, getting such an aloof figure to bend, would be a real victory.

The former Mrs. Bennett was past her prime, having had two kids; how could she compete? Men always craved youth and ty, and she had both! With that thought, vBreanne's confidence shot back up. A minor setback meant nothing, especially since she had already set sthings in motion...

Outside the bar, Alex was waiting by the car. As soon as Everett stepped out, she quickly opened the back door, making sure he got in safely. Alex stipped into the driver's seat, stealing a glance at her boss through the rear- view mirror. Judging by his demeanor, the meetings earlier seemed to have gone smoothly, yet he was still emanating that chill.

Unable to hold back, Alex silently thought: Always the tough guy.

Whether in the past ast or now, the boss was as stubborn as ever. As his assistant, it was her job to handle things for him. Without asking Everett, she quietly drove towards Moon Bay.

When the car stopped, Everett gave a quick look around, kis voice icy, "Did I tell you to drive here?"

Feigning confusion, Alex slapped her forehead, "Oh, I must've zoned out. It's late, and I'm a bit sleepy. Sorry, Mr. Everett, I'll take you back to Lakeside Manor right away."
