Chapter 1909
As the sun spilled its warm light over the horizon, Adler's wedding crew rolled up
to Jenna's front door. Dressed in a sharp white suit, Adler stepped into the Dennis family home, catching his
breath with each step. Despite the slightly tousled hair, he still carried that typical charming and dashing aura.
“Jenna! I'm here to whisk you away!" he announced, his face radiating pure joy, as he dropped to one knee,
ready to hand Jenna a bouquet of fresh flowers.
Sophie cleared her throat, interjecting, "Mr. Adler, aren't you forgetting something?"
"Forget? What did | forget?" Adler paused, momentarily thrown off. He had meticulously gone over the wedding
plans with Colby and couldn't think of a thing he'd missed.
"You forgot the gifts," Sophie reminded him.
Sandy, who had just flown in from overseas with a delayed flight, chimed in. She would have been there earlier
to add to the fun as a bridesmaid if not for the delay. Elodie, another bridesmaid, walked in and added, "Even if
no one's blocking the door, Mr. Adler, it's tradition. We bridesmaids expect our gifts."

"Red envelopes..." Adler's face turned a bit sheepish.
Caught up with plans to switch the venue earlier that day, he had completely overlooked the promise of gifts to
Sophie. In a moment of silent plea, Adler glanced over at Colby for help.
Colby, ever unflappable, calmly fished out a few bank cards from his pocket, handing them to Sophie, Elodie, and
Sandy. Seeing this, Adler was genuinely touched, almost to tears. What a true friend!
But soon, suspicion crept in. With a low, secretive voice, Adler asked, "Where did you get the extra cash?"
"Who said it was my extra cash?"
"Oh, getting paid by Sophie now?"
"I swiped it from your wallet before we left."
"What!"
Adler's eyes widened in surprise. "You!"
"Is there a problem?"
"You're a real pal, taking it so precisely..."
Since declaring his unwavering devotion to Jenna, Adler had handed
all his finances over to her for safekeeping. The three bank cards in
nover
his wallet were now neatly distributed among Jenna's bridesmaids. What a predicament.
Adler felt a wave of helplessness wash over him. Sniffling, he turned to Jenna, "Jenna, you've got to believe me,
my love for you is as real as it gets."
"Don't be silly, of course | believe you," Jenna replied, her face glowing with a smile.
With Jenna safely in the wedding car and off to the ceremony, Sophie and Colby settled into another ride.
"Why do these wedding cars look so familiar?" Sophie wondered aloud. "Aren't these the sdrivers Lennon
hired for our wedding?"
"The old wedding car wasn't an option," Colby explained.
"Why's that?" Sophie asked, puzzled. Why would a perfectly good wedding car suddenly be out of commission?
"Well..." Colby hesitated, almost mentioning something about flight arrivals but opted for, "the wedding car
company had a last-minute hiccup."
"And the wedding venue? Is it far?"
"Not far," Colby assured her. "You know the place."
"I do?" Sophie was intrigued.
Soon, the car pulled up in front of a familiar hotel. Recognizing the sign, Sophie was taken aback.
Indeed, she knew it well. Massaging her temples, she sighed, "So... why the Four Seasons Hotel for the
wedding?"
"For... various reasons," Colby replied, dodging a more detailed explanation.
