Chapter 186 Stolen Work Before Heather could askwhat was so funny, a shadow loomed overfrom behind. I turned around to see Harvey glaring atwith a dark expression. He snorted coldly. "Laughing this early in the morning? What's so funny?" Hearing his voice, Heather instantly shrank back and buried herself in her work. She was afraid of getting dragged into his anger.
I looked at him calmly. "Do you need something, Mr. Zimmerman?" Harvey cleared his throat with a slightly unnatural look in his gaze. "How's the presentation coming along? Is it done yet? It's needed in two days, so I expect to see it this afternoon." I nodded. "It's almost done." Perhaps my response was too neutral, but Harvey couldn't find a reason to lash out. The moment lunch break ended, Harvey summonedto his office.

"There's still swork left to do, but it'll be finished in tfor tomorrow's presentation," I replied truthfully. At my words, Harvey slammed his desk and exploded. "Are you trying to mess with me? I told you to finish it by this afternoon! If you delay tomorrow's presentation, do you think you can afford the consequences?" I met his gaze calmly. "Mr. Zimmerman, are you hoping I'll say that I'll resign voluntarily if the presentation is delayed?" Harvey didn't even flinch at being exposed. Instead, he smirked and dropped all pretense. "So what if I am? If tomorrow's presentation is a disaster, whether you resign or not, you're leaving this company." I arched an eyebrow. "So, the reason you assigneda presentation I might struggle with... was just to get rid of me?" Harvey lit a cigarette casually and said, "So what if I did do that?" He took two deep drags and exhaled, filling the office with nasty smoke. "It doesn't matter if you finish it or not. I'm using your version tomorrow either way. If you don't want to get fired, you'd better pray bettenpray for a miracle." His confidence shattered the morning of office, Hane presentation. In his was reviewing the presentation on my laptop. After a long silence, he looked up atquestioningly. "You did this?" I nodded. "I told you it'd be done." "Got it. Now leave." He wavedoff impatiently.
I didn't move. "Shouldn't the person who made the presentation be the one to present it?" He froze for a moment, then looked atwith utter disdain. "You? Present? As if you could explain it properly." "Alright then." I shrugged before turning to leave. I left my laptop behind.
Back at my desk, Heather immediately noticed my missing laptop and looked terrified. "You left your laptop with the Demon?"

I'll make sure he coughs up every last bit he stole from me."
