Chapter 767 After leaving the Saunders family estate, Citrine made her way to the headquarters of the Vermillion Vanguard.
At the moment, Ogden Winthrop was deep in discussion with several subordinates. When he spotted Citrine step through the doorway, his eyes lit up.
He waved off the young man across from him. "Alright, let's pick this up later." With a broad grin, he strode over and pulled Citrine down onto the couch beside him.

Citrine's expression was serious as she looked at him. ""Grandpa, I'm here because I need your help." Ogden blinked in surprise, then broke into a laugh. "Well, well. The stubborn girl actually needs a favor? Let's hear it." She didn't hesitate. "I want to temporarily rejoin the unit." Hearing this, a flash of pride crossed Ogden's face, but the word "temporarily" gave him pause.
He frowned. "Exactly what do you mean by 'temporarily'?" Citrine's voice was steady and resolute. "I need to take a team to Mirage Cay. There are hostages to rescue." At the mention of Mirage Cay, Ogden's face changed in an instant.
"No." He refused her on the spot, not even sparing it a thought.
Citrine's tone was calm but firm. "Grandpa, Raymond went to Mirage Cay for my sake. I have to get him out." Ogden let out a long, weary sigh. His opposition was fierce. "Listen to me, girl. We know next to nothing about what's happening on Mirage Cay. If you rush in blind, you'll only be throwing your life away." Citrine stared straight at him. "Who says I'm rushing in blind?" Ogden was taken aback, a flicker of disbelief in his eyes. "You... You mean to tellyou're confident you can wipe them out in one go?" She nodded. "Ever since I escaped from Mirage Cay, I've been gathering intel. Originally, I planned to wait until I'd finished dealing with sissues at hand carry out the operation later this year. But now, with Raymond's life hanging in the balance, I can't wait any longer." Citrine admitted to herself that her motives weren't entirely selfless, but she'd also spent months preparing every detail. When lives were on the line, she could never risk her soldiers' safety on a whim.
Ogden, of course, knew this about her.
He exhaled sharply. As her grandfather, every instinct screamed at him to o say no-Mirage Cay was a nest of vipers, and one wrong move could mean death. But as the leader of the Vermillion Vanguard, his hands were tied. The island had always been an insurmountable problem for their group. Now, Citrine had a real plan, and he knew he had to back her. Too many of their people had suffered and died there.
Agony etched deep lines into his face. He waved a trembling hand. "Alright. Do what you have to." Citrine's eyes filled with tears.
