Chapter 870

Caroline's eyes flashed with a hint of fierceness as she muttered under her breath, "So, having a baby is quite

the accomplishment, isn't it?" That's how it was with Rebecca White! And Sherilyn too! Just by having kids, they

seemed to have men completely captivated! Of course, men weren't innocent either! Francis was like that! And

so was Gilbert! But what about her? What did she mean to them? Once upon a time, they had both sworn up and

down that they would always treat her well!

The following morning, before seven, Sherilyn arrived at the hospital with a homemade soup that Sophia had

prepared. As she pushed the door open, Gilbert was just coming out from the inner room. "Awake?" Sherilyn

smiled, gesturing to the bag in her hands. "I brought breakfast. Why don't you eat before you go?" "No, thanks."

Gilbert's voice was strained as he shook his head. "I've got an international video conference early this morning.

I need to head out now."

"| see..." Sherilyn smiled. "Then | won't keep you. Go ahead and get busy."

"Right." Gilbert nodded, grabbing his blazer from the couch. "I'll cby tonight."

"Take care."

"Uh, Sherilyn..." Gilbert paused, his gaze lingering on her face, his brow furrowed, as if he wanted to say

something but hesitated.

"Hmm?" Confused, Sherilyn raised her eyebrows.

"... Never mind." With a forced smile, Gilbert shook his head, turned, and left. Stepping out of the room and

leaving the ward, he only let out a deep breath once he was in the elevator and the doors had closed God know's

what he was about to ask! He wanted to know if her date with Edgar the previous night.. if it was enjoyable?

Were they getting along well? Gilbert suddenly closed his eyes in frustration. What was he supposed to do? He

was insanely jealous of Edgar! He wasn't as over it as he thought he was. He was quite petty... For a moment, he

even wickedly wished that things between them weren't going well... How great would that be?

After breakfast, Sherilyn promised Jenna they would watch an episode of a cartoon together. Knock, knock.

Someone knocked on the door. The nurse cin, "Ms. Gomez, you

have visitors." Oh? Sherilyn quickly stood up, curious and a little formal, wondering who it could be. "Please,

cin..." Before she finished speaking, the visitors were already stepping inside.

"Big brother?" Sherilyn was surprised to see Francis and his son, James, didn't expect them at all.

"Yeah." Francis nodded slightly, giving his son a look. With just that glance, James understood and approached

Sherilyn, standing politely in front of her.

"Hello, Auntie, I'm James." Since Sherilyn was adopted into the Johnson family, James calling her 'Auntie' wasn't

incorrect. This was actually the first tSherilyn formally met James. He was just like a little adult, much like

how Francis usually appeared. "Hello, James." Sherilyn smiled warmly, bending down to ruffle James's hair. Such

a beautiful and well-mannered child, who wouldn't like him?

James pouted slightly, then looked

towards the hospital bed. On the bed, Jenna was looking back at him with big, grape-like eyes, curiously

switching her gaze between Francis and James. "Are you Jenna? My little sister?" James approached the bed, his

cheeks puffy and tinged with a soft pink. Dad had told him they were visiting his aunt and sister, but he hadn't

mentioned his sister would be this pretty!

"Yep!" Jenna blinked her large eyes, nodding.

"Nice to meet you, Jenna... I'm James, your big brother."
